Gold Hill man held on sex crimes accusations By Vickie Aldous By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Oct 20, 2022 05:39 PM A A Ethan Lavelle Williams Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit detectives arrested a Gold Hill man Thursday on allegations of multiple sex crimes involving juvenile victims. Ethan Lavelle Williams, 23, of Gold Hill was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on initial charges of second-degree sexual abuse, another charge of second-degree sexual abuse, third-degree rape, luring a minor and first-degree online sexual corruption of a child, according to jail records. The sheriff’s office released his mug shot because detectives believe there may be other victims. Anyone with information about the suspect should call Special Victims Unit Detective Wenzel at 541-770-8928. The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff’s office said. An Oregon law that went into effect this year limits law enforcement’s ability to release mug shots to the public before a defendant is convicted except in certain circumstances.
