Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend October 25, 2005 Medford boys end season on high note COTTAGE GROVE — Medford beat North Eugene 22-19 in overtime Sunday in boys water polo to end the season 5-7, its best record in history. Josh Silver led Medford with five goals. Zach Haveman and Thomas Gilder had four apiece in the contest that was tied 15-all at the end of regulation. Medford broke free in the second overtime, outscoring North Eugene 3-0 with goals from Silver, Haveman and Lance Abbott to win by the final count. In another match, Haveman, Silver, Brian Capsey and David Marliaze all scored goals in a 14-4 loss to Sheldon. Goalie Davis Jantzi blocked a 10 shots over the two games, and Jason Flinn had nine denials. The Medford girls dropped their final two games of the season, losing 12-0 to North Eugene and 4-2 to Sheldon. Medford goalie Jenni Osmanski turned away eight shots in each contest, and Elyse Cogburn and Alexandra Fox each accounted for a goal against Sheldon.
