Robert John Bell II, 52, got 35 days in jail or other custodial programs, said Josephine County Deputy District Attorney Lisa Turner. Bell's charges were felon in possession of a firearm and manufacture of a controlled substance (marijuana). The case stemmed from a confrontation at Bell's home on Sheraton Drive in December that grew violent. According to a probable cause affidavit, Edward Linebaugh and Andrew Haning, both of Williams, showed up Dec. 8 at Bell's residence and confronted Bell and his girlfriend with a shotgun. Bell grabbed a handgun and shots were exchanged. Haning was hit by a bullet in the arm, and treated and released at the hospital. Bell was detained at the scene. Haning, 33, and Linebaugh, 60, were both booked on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm. In March, Linebaugh was given two consecutive sentences of 30 days jail time and two years of probation for one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon and one felony count of felon in possession of a firearm. Haning's case is still active, and he faces a status hearing May 16 on charges of unlawful use of a weapon. Bell also was convicted in 2009 of manufacture and sale of marijuana. Eleven pounds of marijuana was seized from property in that case. Haning was convicted of felon in possession of a firearm and drug manufacturing in 2013, and Linebaugh was also convicted of drug manufacture and sale in 2013.
