May 13. 2011 12:01AM Seattle man arrested in Rogue River with $1,750 in counterfeit cash A Washington man was arrested Wednesday after reportedly buying beef jerky and potato chips with counterfeit cash. A Washington man was arrested Wednesday after reportedly buying beef jerky and potato chips with counterfeit cash. Rogue River police were called to the Chevron gas station on Pine Street after receiving a report that Isaiah Jacob Brother, 31, of Seattle, was trying to buy food items with a suspicious-looking $100 bill. Chief Ken Lewis questioned Brother, who said he had found the bill on the ground along Interstate 5 near Rogue River. Police said they searched Brother and found $1,750 in suspicious money. The cash was taken to Evergreen Bank for examination, which determined all but $75 of the cash was counterfeit. Brother had been traveling through the area on foot with three pit bulls. The dogs were taken into custody by Jackson County Animal Control officials. Brother was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on a charge of being a felon in possession of a forged instrument, a felony.
