They seem to change them about every four years or so. Considering how many decorations there are, I imagine this must be fairly expensive. What I am wondering is: Does the mall simply purchase the new decorations every few years, refurbish the old ones, or are they on some sort of exchange program with a manufacturer or other malls? And just how much does it cost to fully deck the mall for the holiday season? -- So, you like the mall's holiday look, Cami? It's called Santa's Enchanted Forest, and, as the Mail Tribune reported in a recent story, it cost mall management about $150,000 to install. The mall changes its holiday decorations about every five years, according to marketing director Jill Ditty. This time, most of the old decorations were sold to a shopping center in Belgium for an undisclosed price. Items that didn't make it to Belgium will be sold at a warehouse clearance sale planned for 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 30. The new decor -- which includes artificial Canada geese, ice-light curtains and motorized animals near Santa's throne -- was designed by The Becker Group, a Baltimore, Md., firm that specializes in mall finery.
