[File photo] Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in which a 32-year-old woman was struck and killed Halloween night. At about 9:10 p.m. Monday, Medford police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with an injury in the 2100 block of Happy Valley Drive in southwest Medford, the Medford Police Department said. The area is home to a subdivision of houses. Responding officers were on the scene within four minutes and quickly learned a woman had been outside of a vehicle and was struck. She was transported to a local medical facility where she was pronounced deceased, according to MPD. The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team was activated and responded to the scene. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated, and family members of the woman involved have been notified. MPD is the lead investigating agency on the case and will provide updated information when possible, the police department said. The accident reconstruction team is made up of officers from MPD, the sheriff’s office and Oregon State Police.
