Grant will help Down syndrome students reach their potential Dec 23, 2014 12:00 AM A A A $15,000 grant will allow the Down Syndrome Association of Southern Oregon to provide a Tiered Peer Mentor Program that will help students in preschool, high school and those who want to pursue a college education. The grant was provided by the Olsrud Family Fund, the Fred W. Fields Fund and the GreenSprings Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. The Down Syndrome Association of Southern Oregon strives to help empower individuals with Down syndrome to reach their full potential. The Oregon Community Foundation helps improve life in Oregon and promote effective philanthropy. OCF works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create charitable funds to support the community causes they care about.
