CRIME Two arrested after high speed chase with stolen car Comment By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune MailTribune.com By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Dec. 23, 2014 @ 3:03 pm By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Dec. 23, 2014 @ 3:03 pm » Social News Two people are in jail after they allegedly swiped the keys to a truck on a Medford car lot Monday and took off in the vehicle, with police from several agencies in pursuit. Anna Corrine Connor, 27, and Charles Everett Nathan, 34, are in the Jackson County Jail without bail on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, elude and parole violations, jail records show. Connor is also held on DUII charges. Medford police said the theft occurred about 3:40 p.m. at Crater Lake Ford. One of the employees noticed keys missing to a 2014 Ford F-150, then saw Connor hop in the vehicle and drive off the lot. On her way out, police said she picked up Nathan. They were later spotted in the 1200 block of South Riverside Drive by a witness who had been listening to an emergency services scanner and heard about the theft. Lt. Mike Budreau said when the witness approached the vehicle and asked Connor where she'd gotten the car, she hit the accelerator and drove off. At 4:20 p.m., officers in unmarked cars spotted the vehicle near Highway 99 and Stewart Avenue. They gave chase and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle took off again. Jackson County Sheriff's Department deputies and Phoenix police eventually took over the chase, following the truck up Coleman Creek Road until they found it abandoned in the 7000 block. Officers summoned Jackson County K9 service dog Titan to the scene. Titan tracked Connor and Nathan into a brushy canyon near the intersection of Coleman Creek and Anderson Creek roads. The dog found them hiding in the bushes at about 5:15 p.m., when they were arrested. The truck has since been returned to the dealership.  Connor has felony convictions stretching back to 2005, including second-degree burglary, felony fourth-degree assault, methamphetamine possession and third-degree robbery, court records show. Nathan has a conviction for methamphetamine possession.  Reach reporter Ryan Pfeil at 541-776-4468 or [email protected] . Follow him at www.twitter.com/ryanpfeil .
