Grants Pass knocks off Eagles 3-0 in boys soccer GRANTS PASS � Eagle Point surrendered three first-half goals and couldn�t muster any offense in a 3-0 loss to Grants Pass in Southern Oregon Conference boys soccer Friday at Mel Ingram Field. The game, originally scheduled for today, was changed because of a conflict over the field. Van Briggs opened the scoring at the 16th minute. The Cavemen added goals from Andrew Purser and Jess Spann. "The kids picked it up in the second half," Eagle Point coach Coco Ortiz said. Eagles senior goalie Christian Achler, a German foreign exchange student, stopped three breakaway attempts in the second period. Water Polo ASHLAND SWEEPS WATER POLO � In their first home games of the season, the Ashland boys and girls beat Marist Friday. Junior Brad Scoles had seven goals, two assists and three steals to lead the boys to a 12-6 win. Grizzlies senior Liz Alrick led the girls to an 11-5 victory with 13 blocks in goal. Volleyball PAISLEY 15-15, PROSPECT 5-7 � At Paisley, the Broncos won out on several long rallies in posting the Skyline A League triumph. Addie Stockebrand led Prospect with six assists, four kills and 6-for-8 serving with two aces.
