The 23-year-old Grants Pass woman, charged with first-degree manslaughter in a rollover crash last year that killed a 15-year-old girl, has now been charged with sexually abusing that girl and another girl earlier in 2015. Details were on parade Friday at the Josephine County Courthouse, as lawyers argued pretrial motions in the manslaughter case. According to court filings, the mayhem wrought by White in the last couple years included serious injury to a 16-year-old during a mailbox bashing spree; three injured passengers in a hit-and-run crash into a fence last year; and three more passengers injured and one killed in the fatal crash a year ago on Gunnell Road west of Grants Pass. Then there was a burglary case, in which White was accused of conspiring with another jail inmate while awaiting trial in the manslaughter case to burglarize her grandmother's home for bail money. She pleaded to a conspiracy charge and was sentenced to 15 months in prison. Now, add to that two victims, if the charges stick, in a sex-crimes case filed Thursday. White is accused of intimately touching the girls and providing one of them with alcohol. "This woman does not value human life," Chief Deputy District Attorney Lisa Turner told Judge Thomas Hull Friday. "Breanna White does what Breanna White wants to do, and damn the consequences." Three times White has attended what are known as victims panels, yet that didn't deter her, Turner said. The panels are presentations featuring victims of drunken mayhem, and showing gruesome pictures of bloody vehicle crashes. White's three-week manslaughter trial is set to begin Oct. 25. She also is charged in the case with DUII, assault and furnishing alcohol to a minor. On Friday, Turner and defense attorney Justin Rosas argued motions in the case. Rosas asked that the trial be moved due to pretrial publicity, but Hull denied the request. Both lawyers asked that a security plan be drawn up, because of audience behavior at prior hearings. Rosas said he has been spat upon, and an assistant was stomped. Hull said such conduct "can't happen" and could result in a mistrial. "It's going to be a very heated trial," Turner conceded. White wasn't in the courtroom, but instead watched and listened, at her request, via video from the Josephine County Jail. About 10 people watched the proceedings from the courtroom gallery, including a woman who wore a shirt calling for justice for Aryen, the name of the girl killed in last year's wreck. About a week earlier, White allegedly was at the wheel of a vehicle that smashed through a fence, injuring three passengers, and then left the scene. Charges in that crash are part of the manslaughter trial, but Rosas argued for a separate trial. Turner argued that including facts of the earlier crash go to White's knowledge of the risk of drinking and driving.
