"There is a strong similarity in the way the suspect got the money and his description and photo," Medford police Lt. Mike Moran said of the two robberies. Medford police got a call at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday reporting a robbery at the U.S. Bank branch at 1242 Court St. A white man with short dark hair, brown eyes and no facial hair told a teller he was robbing the bank. He didn’t show a weapon, but demanded cash in $100, $50 and $20 denominations, Moran said. The robber got an undisclosed amount of cash and put it in a Bank of America bank bag, Moran said. The man wore a baseball cap, black jeans and a gray, hooded, zip-up sweatshirt. He is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and of medium build, Moran said. Moran said police have surveillance video photos from the U.S. Bank robbery and are comparing them to surveillance photos taken at the Washington Mutual branch in downtown Ashland during a robbery Nov. 19. The photo provided to news organizations shows a blurred image of a man at a bank counter. A dark baseball cap is visible, but details aren’t clear enough for newspaper publication. In last week’s robberies, a white man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans entered the Washington Mutual in Ashland at about 11:30 a.m. Nov. 19 and demanded money. He didn’t show a weapon, police said. He left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. That afternoon, a man wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet robbed the Ashland branch of Klamath First. Police were unsure if the two Ashland robberies were related and didn’t find any suspects in either robbery. Agents from the Medford FBI office are assisting in all three cases.
