The fire started about 3 p.m. in a motor home parked underneath a carport next to a two-story shop in the 9000 block of Yank Gulch Road, southwest of Talent. The flames were spotted by the homeowner, who called 911. Firefighters from Jackson County Fire District 5 found the motor home engulfed in flames, which were spreading to the shop's upper floor, according to a District 5 news release. Two engines, two tenders and nine personnel from District 5 were called in, along with additional resources from the Oregon Department of Forestry and Medford Fire-Rescue, the release said. Firefighters knocked down the flames in about 20 minutes and kept them from spreading to nearby wildlands. The loss, which included the motor home and damage to the shop's second story and roof, was estimated at $240,000, the release said. The cause so far is undetermined, but an electrical problem is suspected, District 5 Capt.
