Ashland's levy passing; Ely leading in Gold Hill Nov 06, 2007 12:00 AM A A Ashland's schools levy has a solid lead in early returns from the county elections office, and Mike Ely is leading two other candidates for a seat on the Gold Hill City Council. Early returns had the Ashland measure passing with 4,949 "yes" votes to 2,561 "no" votes. In Gold Hill, Ely had 137 votes, while Kathleen Price followed with 79 and "Bucky" Steffens had 41. Updated returns are expected within the hour. We'll have more details soon.
