The first-place Raiders (22-4, 9-0 Cascade) clobbered the Coyotes, 12-1 and 8-3. Southern Oregon collected 30 hits in the twinbill, including a 6-for-8, six-RBI effort by sophomore first baseman Amy Williams, and a 4-for-7, seven-RBI performance by sophomore centerfielder Leann Foster. SOU, which went homerless the first 24 games of the season, smacked four round-trippers in the opener. Foster, who prepped at Crater High, homered twice and finished with a team season-best five RBI. Sophomore Amanda Cregan yielded six hits and three unearned runs in 41/3 innings in Game 2 to improve to 7-1 on the year. Other Raider offensive luminaries in the doubleheader barrage were senior Alexis Cooper (4-for-6), junior Seanna Doyel (3-for-5) and freshman Katie Lee (3-for-4). Southern, which leads its closest conference pursuer by five games in the title chase, wraps up the weekend road trip today with two games at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande.
