Playing on the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course at PGA West, Allred — starting on the 10th hole — birdied three of his first six holes and finished the day with a 3-under 69. The former Ashland High standout offset his only bogey of the day at the par-3 17th hole with another birdie on the par-5 No. 7.
