36 new COVID-19 cases reported in Jackson County By Mail Tribune Staff Nov 01, 2020 07:22 PM A A Jackson County reported 36 new confirmed and presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 Sunday, bringing the local total to 1,911 with seven deaths. A total of 309 cases are considered actively infectious and 130 patients have been hospitalized. The state reported 524 new cases and two additional fatalities Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 45,429 cases and 691 deaths. Jackson County Public Health reported cooler weather and holiday activities that increase indoor congregations also enhance the risk of spreading COVID-19. Improving indoor ventilation, wearing a mask around people outside immediate household members, limiting guests to 10 people or fewer and practicing physical distancing minimize the risk.
