Duste cruises to modified win at Southern Oregon Speedway Aug 28, 2011 12:00 AM A A WHITE CITY — In the tune-up for next weekends Lon Skinner Memorial, Matt Duste bolted to the lead in lap seven and never trailed to capture the modified A main at Southern Oregon Speedway Saturday. Duste, currently third in the points standings, edged closer to second-place Travis Peery after Peery dropped out of the race. A flat tire early in the mini stock A-Main forced the points-leader Tyler Lockwood off the track and provided an opening for John Derby to take the checkered flag and the points lead away from Lockwood. In the street stocks, points leader Duane Orsburn jumped out to a commanding lead, but Jordan Braaten took advantage of a yellow flag and grabbed the lead from Orsburn on lap 18 en route to the victory. Dave Everson got his third win in as many weeks in the 20-lap A main pro stocks class. Meanwhile, in the quest for a new national wins record in the dwarf cars, Kelly Gutches got his 113th A-Main win in the dwarf car regionals in Quincy, Calif., Friday night.
