(Photo by David Burnett) 'Can you believe what you see?' "Can you believe what you see?: The Impact and Integrity of News Media Images in the Digital Age," will be the topic of the 2007 Thomas W. Pyle First Amendment Forum at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. The impact and integrity of news photography will be the focus as four photographers discuss visual images in the digital age at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Rogue River Room of the Stevenson Union at SOU. Moderator will be Dennis Dunleavy, who teaches journalism at SOU. Panelists will include Oregonian Photo Editor Mike Davis, national news photographer David Burnett and Mail Tribune Photo Editor and photographer Bob Pennell. Dunleavy joined the SOU Communication Department in 2005 after more than 20 years as a photojournalist and correspondent in the U.S., Mexico and Central America. Burnett is a winner of the Magazine Photographer of the Year award and a recipient of the World Press Photo of the Year award. Davis won the national Picture Editor of the Year award three times and worked at the Detroit Free Press before joining the Oregonian.
