If I’m not mistaken, the Mail Tribune employed a photographer by that same name back in the early ’80s. Does anybody know if this might be the same Bert Fox? — Michael O., Medford. Indeed, Michael, he is one and the same. Former Mail Tribune photo editor Bert Fox is presently an illustrations editor at the National Geographic Magazine. Fox was received the picture editor of the year award in a national competition while at the Tribune. That award led to 14 years of photo editing at the Philadelphia Inquirer, where he worked as art director and picture editor for the newspaper’s Sunday Magazine. He was named picture editor of the year four more times while at the Inquirer. In 1996 he joined the National Geographic magazine. Along with his work at the magazine he has edited and designed a photojournalism book about child poverty and two "Day in the Life" books.
