JCSO photo A motorcyclist was killed Monday evening after crashing into a passenger vehicle on a 90-degree blind corner near the 6000 block of Wagner Creek Road in Talent. The motorcyclist, Matthew James Roberts, 29, of Ashland, was transported to a local hospital where he later died, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Ashland Fire and Rescue personnel arrived at the location at 5:10 p.m. and began rendering medical aid, according to a press release. A preliminary investigation indicated the 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle Roberts was riding was traveling north on Wagner Creek Road when it left the lane of travel and crashed into the front of the 2020 Volvo. The driver of the Volvo was transported to a local hospital for injuries that weren’t life threatening. The investigation is ongoing, and a toxicological report is in the works, police said.
