Mail Tribune / Jim Craven Faithful find more places to worship Large churches pop up in Medford and Grants Pass Two new churches with strong ties to the Applegate Christian Fellowship have sprung up in recent months in Southern Oregon. Mountain Christian Fellowship in Medford is in the process of converting the old Kids Unlimited headquarters on Front and Main into its church. In the meantime, the church has been holding services at the Reston Inn Convention Center, with about 500 people in attendance. Edgewater Christian Fellowship in Grants Pass has about 1,000 to 1,100 members. "There was a significant amount of people that came as a direct result of Applegate Christian Fellowship," said one of Edgewater’s pastors, Glen Litwiller. He said the majority of people who attended the first Sunday sermon last October were from Applegate fellowship, but many of the newer members don’t have any ties to that church. Advertisement Litwiller said the decision to start a new church was a direct outgrowth of the Applegate fellowship. "It was Pastor Pete’s (Peter-John Courson’s) vision to send the four of us out as pastors," he said. With a significant number of members already, Litwiller said, "The Lord’s really doing a work here."
