Water main break floods Medford homes, businesses Water from a broken water main on Jeanette Avenue floods G's Bento Monday on the corner of Lewis Avenue and West Main Street. [Mail Tribune / Denise Baratta] Monday Mar 27, 2017 at 11:25 AM Mar 27, 2017 at 1:45 PM 1:28 p.m.: The Medford Water Commission estimates they should be able to replace the broken, 20-foot length of water main before the end of the day. Water flooded four houses on Jeannete Avenue and two businesses at the corner of West Main Street. Another two houses and one business at the corner of Lewis Avenue and West Main also had flooding. The water main that broke is located on Jeannette. 12:20 p.m.: The Medford Water Commission said a 14-inch, 1952 cast iron pipe broke under Jeanette Avenue. The commission is investigating the cause and will do initial cleanup work. 11:30 a.m. A water main break this morning flooded several homes and businesses in west Medford, including G's Bento on West Main Street and Lewis Avenue. The water line broke underneath Jeanette Avenue, which is just east of Lewis Avenue, crews told a Mail Tribune photographer on scene. The break sent water, rock and mud west through several homes and businesses and a vacant lot, the photographer said, also flooding G's Bento and a furniture business at West Main and Jeanette.  Crews were digging up Jeanette Avenue to find the source of the break.
