Eric George Bunn Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Mar. 10, 2016 at 2:00 AM Posted Mar. 10, 2016 at 2:00 AM » Social News Eric Bunn, 58, of Medford, Ore. passed away peacefully February 29, 2016 at his home. Eric was born October 14, 1957 to Daniel and Pamela Bunn in The Dalles, Ore. and grew up in Wishram, Wash. as the third generation of a family business. Eric treasured his childhood memories of Wishram, where he was surrounded by close friends and extended family. He spoke fondly of it as an ideal small-town experience. He had a particularly close relationship with his grandparents, who instilled in Eric a strong work ethic and appreciation of family values. After attending the University of Puget Sound, he joined his father in developing commercial and residential property in the Pacific Northwest. Eric was married to Georgia L. Bunn June 17, 1982; they were married 34 years. Together, they continued in the tradition of the family business by developing commercial, retail, and medical buildings. In 1999, they formed Rubicon Investments with Eric’s father and siblings. Under Eric’s leadership, Rubicon grew to focus on government and medical real estate. He worked daily with his father and son. Eric’s business legacy will continue with his son, Daniel succeeding him as president of the company. Wisdom, humility, and devotion to family distinguished Eric’s life. For him, the family business was far more than a commercial enterprise; it was a livelihood that fostered an incredible closeness within the family. In addition to this commitment to family, he was known to many as a compassionate, steadfast, and loyal personal counselor who always recognized and encouraged the highest potential in everyone. Eric was an avid reader of history, enjoyed discussing politics and world events, and loved taking walks with his black lab, Duke. He took great pride in his business, family, and faith, and was especially pleased to rejoice with his wife in the knowledge that they would soon be joined by a grandchild. Eric is survived by his mother, Pamela Cartier; his wife Georgia; his son Daniel; his daughter-in-law Elizabeth; his sisters, Michelle Sweet and Danna Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eric was preceded in death by his father, Daniel E. Bunn. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Ashland, Ore. The Rev. Dr. Anthony Hutchinson will officiate. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Perl Funeral Home in Medford. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the Bunn residence. According to Eric’s wishes, his ashes will be taken to join with his grandparents' at Pilot Rock overlooking the Columbia River.
