Nelly concert to draw hundreds Hundreds of fans of rap star Nelly and his band, the St. Lunatics, are expected to show up for tonight's rare hip-hop concert at the Jackson County Exposition Park. Final ticket sale figures weren't available Sunday. Promoters last week said they expected a capacity crowd of 4,500, but Fair Director Chris Borovansky said that's not likely. "It's a good show, it's a good crowd, but they're not sold out," he said. There's been some confusion about the timing of the event, organizers acknowledged. Tickets say the gates open at 5 p.m., with the main performance set for 8:30 p.m. Actually, the gates will open at 6 p.m., preview acts will start at 7 p.m. and Nelly is expected to perform by 9:45 p.m. Terms of the contract for the show call for the event to be over by 11 p.m., Borovansky said. "We want to get kids home at a decent hour," he added. Promoters face a $2,000 fine if the event runs past 11 p.m. In any case, Borovansky said: "We'll pull the plug." Parents wondering where to pick up kids should arrange to meet them at the Fair Office, Borovansky added. For more information, call 776-7237.
