Classes Red Cross offers CPR, first aid The American Red Cross will offer the following classes in April at 60 Hawthorne St. Pre-registration is required. Call 779-3773. An adult CPR class is set for 6 to 10 p.m. April 5, 21, and 26; 8 a.m. to noon April 10, 17, and 24. Fee: $27. An infant/child CPR class is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 10; 6 to 10 p.m. April 27. Fee: $27. A standard first aid and CPR class is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 10, 17, and 24; 6 to 10 p.m. April 5, 6, 21, 22, 26, and 28. Fee: $35. A CPR review class is set for 1 to 3:30 p.m April 9 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. April 20. Fee: $22. A community first aid class is set for 6 to 10 p.m. April 26, 27, and 28. The three-day class will cover Adult CPR, Infant/Child CPR, and First Aid. This class is useful for day-care providers. Fee: $40. CPR for the Professional Rescuer is set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 24. This class covers adult, infant and child CPR, two-person rescue, bag-valve-mask instruction and pocket mask practice. Fee: $40. In Ashland, the American Red Cross will offer a standard first aid and CPR class from 6 to 10 p.m. April 14 and 15 at the Hunter Senior Center, 1699 Holmes Ave. Fee: $35. Mediation training offered in Medford Training in resolving disputes through mediation will be offered through Medford's conflict resolution agency in April. Mediation Works, a nonprofit program that uses trained volunteers to help clients unravel disputes without lawsuits, is offering the program with trainer Lynne Cox. The sessions will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 20-24 in Medford. The cost is $800, but participants can take the sessions for half price if they become volunteers with Mediation Works. Mediation is a process that guides individuals in a dispute to resolving issues in a mutually agreeable way. The training sessions will focus on active listening, negotiating strategies, identifying interests and issues, persuasion strategies and agreement writing.
