Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend June 16, 2005 Trial set for woman accused of shooting husband to death A 60-year-old Eagle Point woman suspected of killing her husband and then shooting herself is set to face a jury in November. Judy Lavonne Day has pleaded not guilty to the murder of her husband, 59-year-old Daniel Clifton Day. Police said she shot him more than once with a handgun at their Teakwood Drive home on Dec. 12. She then shot herself once in the chest, investigators said. The couple lived alone in the home for about 15 years, neighbors said. Judy Day was hospitalized for about five days before authorities moved her to the Jackson County Jail, where she remains without bail. If convicted, she would spend a minimum of 25 years in prison before she is eligible for parole. The trial is scheduled to run for eight days in Jackson County Circuit Court. The case, however, will be heard by Klamath County Circuit Court Judge Rodger Isaacson because a family member of Daniel Day is a clerical employee at the court, said Bob Kleker, court operations supervisor.
