Once that need is filled, donations may be distributed to others in need. Two miscarriages and three stillbirths in the past two years have emotionally emptied a Central Point family that also flounders financially. The mother, 20, and father, 23, moved from California with their young daughter and son, leaving behind any family support as they weather this dark time. Normal results for the woman’s various medical tests have revealed no answers, said Jodi von Brandt, family advocate for Central Point Head Start. The 4-year-old daughter, a Head Start student, grieves the most recent loss of a sister that she helped to name, said von Brandt. Feeling guilty, the mother struggles through everyday chores and errands, in addition to playing with and reading to her children. Assistance with this family’s holiday celebration would be a priceless gift. Both children need pajamas and bicycle helmets. Dolls, ponies and animals delight the little girl, who also loves the Disney movie “Frozen,” princess-themed toys, hair accessories and art supplies. She wears clothing in size 5/6T and size 1 shoes. Her younger brother, age 3, loves trains, cars, truck and planes; dinosaurs, toy tools, balls and Mr. Potato Head. His clothing size is 4T, size 13 in shoes. Their father’s work outside requires a warm hat and gloves. He wears large shirts and size 36/32 pants, preferably black jeans. He could use a black belt and size 11½ shoes. His wife would not ask for anything specific but wears size 7 pants and medium shirts and would like some nail polish, makeup and other pretty things.
