Jackson County sheriff's detectives continue to search for the pranksters who placed the ads saying the owner of a home in the 7900 block of Sterling Creek Road was forced to leave the area suddenly and his belongings, including a horse, were free for the taking. Police have called on those who took Robert Salisbury's possessions, including a porch swing, ladders, a weed eater and other tools, to return them immediately. Anyone who knowingly keeps the items will be prosecuted, police said. "Some people did return things," Salisbury said Sunday. "Maybe that will urge others to do it." Salisbury learned of the hoax when a woman who was interested in claiming his horse phoned him to verify whether the ads were legitimate. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call sheriff's detectives at 774-6815.
