"We will be out of your face for a while once this project is finished," said Bill Boyette, public service representative for the Oregon Department of Transportation in Medford. And I am sure a lot of people will applaud that." Boyette said new traffic signals will be turned on next week and the project will essentially be finished except for some minor fine-tuning and clean-up work. Traffic lights will be timed to coincide with traffic flow statistics for the area. The project has lasted three months. It was timed to finish by tourist season. Paving work is scheduled to begin April 12 on the nearly finished Siskiyou Boulevard overhaul project, weather permitting. Paving, which was held off over winter when conditions are too wet and cold for the asphalt to set, will take about two to three weeks.
