Sime is top runner for Raider men SALEM -- Southern Oregon runners finished well back in the pack in the 25th Annual Willamette University Invitational at Bush Pasture Park. The Raiders were 20th out of 30 teams in the women's small college/club division. The Southern Oregon men failed to field a complete team and didn't score in a 36-team field. Amos Sime was the top Raider finisher, placing 64th in the men's race. He was clocked in 25 minutes, 50.68 seconds on the 8,000-meter course. Jared Palmer was 140th in 26:51.06. Micah Cardillo was 166th in 27:09.46 and John Opelt was 291st in 29:54.51. Allison Garich topped the SOU women with a 19:56.21 effort on the 5,000-meter course, good for 107th. Liana Bernard (20:23.68) and Helen Rarick (20:23.97) finished 150th and 151st. Jennifer Squires was 226th in 21:44.95 and Brandee Paisano was 254th in 22:35.74. Karl Keska, running unattached, topped the men's field of 335 runners in 24:08.48. Lisa Karnopp-Nye, also unattached, outraced 284 women to take first in 17:06.46.
