The agency reported they are looking for a white male in his 20s, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall. Investigators say he was last seen wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark blue bandanna with eye holes cut out of it, light colored jeans and black and white tennis shoes. Police say the man walked into Flamingo's, 2049 Roberts Road, at 1:53 a.m., brandishing a gun. Security footage shows three customers playing on video lottery machines in the establishment. A lone employee was behind the counter. Footage shows the man running in and going around the counter with a black handgun extended. "He's completely covered head to toe, and he's waving the gun around and pointing it at the employee," Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said. "You can clearly see the employee's shaken." Budreau added the man then swiped an unknown amount of cash from the register and a safe in the manager's office, which was already open. Then he fled. "He was out of there really quick," Budreau said. "In fact, on the way out he dropped some of it, stopped, spun around, picked it up and ran back out." Investigators said businesses like Flamingo's and Purple Parrot are prime target for thieves, as they have to keep cash on hand for lottery payouts and are open late. Security cameras, robbery alarms and time-locked safes are typically good deterrents against would-be robbers, police added.
