Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend September 7, 2004 Emergency Services Felony arrests Warrant — David O’Neal Telford, 29, of Grants Pass. Medford police arrested Telford Sunday evening on out-of-county warrants charging him with racketeering and three counts of delivering controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Monday night. Criminal mischief — Benjamin Barr Carlton, 18, of the 100 block of Clover Lane, Medford. Medford police arrested Carlton Monday on a charge of first-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged in jail, then released on his own recognizance several hours later because of crowded conditions. Crime reports Vehicle theft — 7500 block of Hillcrest Road, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies recovered a Roto-Rooter van Monday that had been reported stolen. It was found overturned and abandoned in a front yard. Burglary — 1600 block of Lampman Road, Gold Hill. A sheriff’s deputy took a report Monday of a burglary to a home. Miscellaneous tools valued at $850 were reported stolen. Theft — Medford and Ashland area. Medford police and sheriff’s deputies took reports Monday of scattered thefts of campaign signs. Fire calls Structure fire — 4000 block of Left Fork of Foots Creek Road, Rogue River. A fire that started in a bedroom closet destroyed the room and its contents about 4 p.m. Monday, said Rogue River Fire District No. 1 firefighter John Moore. No damage estimate was available. The fire didn’t spread beyond a single room, although wildland fire crews were on hand just in case. Rogue River Fire District, Evans Valley Fire District, Rural/Metro Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Forestry all responded to the fire, sending a total of seven fire trucks and about 15 people.
