Medford police arrested Boyd Friday on charges of possession of amphetamine, violating a restraining order and violating probation conditions of a drug conviction. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $10,000 bail. Sex offender — Robert Samuel Hayes, 19, no address listed. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Hayes Friday on charges of failure to register his address as a sex offender and violating probation conditions of a rape conviction. He was jailed on $5,000 bail. Crime reports Theft — 800 block of North Central Avenue, Medford. Medford police Thursday took a report of the theft of $1,500 in cash from a business. Theft — 2900 block of Farmington Avenue, Medford. Medford police Thursday took a report of the theft of a stereo and compact discs. Stolen vehicle — 3100 block of Crater Lake Avenue, Medford. Medford police Friday took a report of the theft of a green 2000 Dodge pickup with an estimated $35,000 value. Theft — 900 block of East Vilas Road, Medford. Medford police Friday took a report of the theft of tires and rims with an estimated $3,000 value. Theft — 800 block of Twin Pines Circle, Ashland. Ashland police Friday took a report of the theft of a chainsaw, two cameras, two portable compact disc players and CDs with a total estimated $2,130 value, from an unlocked vehicle. Fire call Structure fire — 2500 block of Rogue River Highway, Rogue River. A flue fire damaged the second floor of a family’s home Friday. Eighteen firefighters with Jackson County Fire District Nos. 1 and 6 and Rural/Metro Fire Department controlled the 6:34 a.m. fire in about an hour and 30 minutes, said Capt. Jim Clark of District No. 1. The home’s owners and their two teenage daughters were inside at the time of the fire but escaped without injuries, Clark said.
