Businesses lose phone, Internet service By Staff reports Jun 18, 2009 12:00 AM A A At least hundreds of telephone and Internet customers have limited service or no service this afternoon because of a problem with fiber data lines in Salem. The issue in a router provided by Portland-based LightSpeed Networks has been resolved, but work remains to rebuild a database, said Jeff Rhoden of InfoStructure, an Ashland company that provides telephone and data service. He said other companies affected in the area include Hunter Communications, Rio Communications and Integra Telecom. Ashland Fiber Network customers also may be affected. Telephone and Internet service for many business and government customers is limited or inaccessible.
