Emergency services, Oct. 4 Updated: Oct 04, 2022 11:57 AM A A Felony arrests Weapons — Gage Jeffrey Benefield, 31, no known address. Oregon State Police arrested Benefield Sunday on warrants charging him with unlawful use of a weapon, unlawfully carrying or concealing a firearm, misdemeanor driving under the influence of intoxicants, menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail Sunday and released Monday on his own recognizance. Assault — Luis G. Cortez Jr., 31, of the 200 block of Reanna Way, Medford. Medford police arrested Cortez Monday on charges of second-degree assault, second-degree disorderly conduct and harassment. He was held in jail Wednesday without bail. Rape — Rodrigo Edgar Herrera, 29, of the 2300 block of East Barnett Road, Medford. Medford police arrested Herrera Monday on warrants charging him with third-degree rape and second-degree sex abuse. He was held in jail Wednesday without bail.
