Debbie Hicks of Jacksonville operates the Bride Ministries at New Song Church, 520 N. Holly St., Medford, collecting donated gowns and offering them free, along with a church wedding, to low-income women. Call Hicks at 899-1669 or drop off a dress at the Holly Street church. If you don't mind packaging up your dress and dropping it in the mail, consider Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, 12708 S.E. Stephens St., Portland, OR 97233. The foundation grants wishes for women with terminal breast cancer and raises money by selling donated gowns at "Brides Against Breast Cancer" shows across the country. See its Web site, www.makingmemories.org , for details. Of course, most local thrift shops also accept wedding dresses.
