Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people Thursday after they broke into a White City home and tried to intimidate people who knew of their plans to fight last Saturday, sheriff’s Capt. Joe Puckett said. Deputies arrested Nathan Lee Glover, 23, of the 2500 block of Avenue A, White City, on charges of riot and second-degree assault for his suspected role in Saturday’s fight and on charges of tampering with a witness and second-degree burglary for Thursday’s intimidation. They also arrested Jeanette Lorraine Ayers, 32, of the 800 block of South Royal Avenue, Eagle Point, on charges of tampering with a witness and second-degree burglary. Advertisement "They tried to intimidate some friends who knew what was happening and saw them getting ready to rumble Saturday," Puckett said. The witness called authorities after Thursday’s confrontation in the 3400 block of Avenue C, White City. Saturday night a group of 15 young people armed with baseball bats attacked a group of six people and smashed a car’s windows and a house’s sliding glass door at an Antelope Road trailer park, police reports said. Puckett said investigators are surprised at the number of adults they have linked to the fight, which they initially believed to be between groups of teens. They are also concerned about a growing circle of people who appear to have known of plans to fight but blocked investigators or have tried to influence witnesses. "This is serious business because of the number of people willing to get together to engage in this behavior," he said. "This still stems from teens bumping chests, then going to get help. One side went to bring in a lot of people." Investigators think some boys trading threats tried to face off several times, drawing larger crowds with each attempt. Officers have made several arrests so far. On Wednesday, deputies arrested Rebecca Jean Cox, 22, of the 7700 block of Wilson Lane, White City, on a charge of hindering prosecution, and charged Daniel Lee Hutchinson, 20, of the 2500 block of Avenue A, White City, with two counts of second-degree assault, and charges of reckless endangering, disorderly conduct and riot. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on multiple assault charges hours after the fight. Daniel Hutchinson and Nathan Glover are brothers. Investigators also want to talk to their father, Daniel Lee Hutchinson Sr., 43, of the 2500 block of Avenue A, and a younger brother, Puckett said. Most of the rest of the suspects from the fight are teenagers, he said. Deputies and Eagle Point police officers have worked the case day and night all week, Puckett said. Victims and witnesses who had initially blocked investigators began cooperating Thursday, he said. Authorities hope to continue building their case and wrap up arrests soon.
