Raiders race past winless Pioneers The Southern Oregon University men's basketball used a hot start to scorch Pacific Union College Sunday, 89-65, at McNeal Pavilion. The Raiders scored the first 17 points of the game on 6-of-8 shooting and held the Pioneers scoreless over the first five minutes en route to a 51-32 lead at the break. Obie Strickler gunned in six of his career-high 18 points on back-to-back 3-pointers to give Southern Oregon it's largest lead at 81-44 midway through the second-half. Strickler also added six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Teammate Tom Chipps added 17 while Barron Lacy, James Wightman and Reed Sorenson added 14, 14, and 10 points, respectively. The Raiders (3-3) outrebounded the Pioneers 54-33 with Lacy leading the way with nine.
