Junior Royalty rules over pageant Jim Craven photo Joshua Radford and Katie Wideman, above, both 5-year-old preschoolers, were crowned king and queen at Saturday's Pear Blossom Junior Royalty pageant. Joshua is the son of Jill and Rodney Radford of Medford. Katie's parents are Arthur Alfinito and Deanna Calkins of Medford. Three judges chose the winners from 26 girls and 23 boys, using personality, poise and appearance as a guide. The pageant winners will ride on the Junior Royalty float in the 47th Pear Blossom parade April 8. The remaining contestants are invited to ride in the parade on the Rogue Valley Transportation District trolley.
