Standoff ends peacefully Medford police officers train guns on a house in the 500 block of Boardman Street where a reportedly armed and suicidal subject was holed up after a domestic dispute. Mail Tribune / Denise Baratta Thursday Jan 12, 2017 at 5:34 PM Jan 12, 2017 at 5:46 PM Police with guns drawn have ended a two-hour standoff with a reportedly suicidal man on Boardman Street in north Medford this evening. The standoff started after police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 512 Boardman at about 3:15 p.m. today. Police learned from a woman who escaped the home that the man inside was armed and suicidal. Police and a SWAT team surrounded the house with guns drawn. A crisis negotiating team was called in and made contact with the man, who appeared to be alone in the home. The standoff ended peacefully at about 5:15 p.m. with the man in police custody. Boardman was closed from Manzanita to Beatty streets during the incident, but has since been reopened.
