Medical personnel who responded pronounced Hughes dead on scene. Smith was uninjured, police said. Smith was making a left turn from northbound King Street onto westbound Stewart Avenue when the collision occurred, police said. The case is under investigation and will be forwarded to the Jackson County District Attorney's Office for review. 10:18 a.m. A pedestrian was killed this morning at Stewart Avenue and King Street in southwest Medford. An adult male, who has not yet been identified, was killed at about 8:40 a.m. A driver heading north on King was turning west on Stewart when the collision occurred, according to Medford police. Traffic is being detoured from the intersection. Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said the driver was being cooperative with police and that nothing obvious that could have contributed to the crash has been identified so far. More information will be posted when it's available.
