Ashland police arrested Leyva late Monday on a warrant charging her with possession of hallucinogens. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, then released on her own recognizance Tuesday morning. Theft — Dawn Estellee Brumble, 34, of Medford. Medford police added three counts each of identity theft, second-degree forgery and third-degree theft, as well as a charge of first-degree possession of a forged instrument, while Brumble was lodged in jail. She remained jailed Tuesday night. Sexual abuse — Benjamin Madrigal Arias, 66, of Rogue River. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy arrested Arias Tuesday on a warrant charging first-degree sexual abuse. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Tuesday night on $50,000 bail. Crime reports Theft — 500 block of Butte Falls Road, Butte Falls. A sheriff’s deputy took a report Tuesday of a theft of $3,100 worth of stereo equipment and tools from a vehicle. Theft — 2700 block of Village Boulevard, White City. A sheriff’s deputy took a report Tuesday of a theft from a vehicle of miscellaneous items valued at $1,000. Advertisement Shots — A half-dozen worried Ashland residents called police Sunday afternoon after hearing shots fired just after 3 p.m. The shots, thought by some to be automatic weapons fire, turned out to be caused by target practice and an echo, police said.
