Letters, Nov. 11 By Mail Tribune readers Nov 11, 2022 12:00 AM A A Veterans Day blessings To all the veterans of the Armed Forces, I honor you and thank you for your example of courage, sacrifice, service and dedication. I am deeply grateful for our freedom. Additionally, many thanks to the military family members who sacrifice time apart from their loved ones due to training and deployments, sacrificing holidays and birthdays, starting new schools, and numerous relocations. I appreciate your sacrifice, too! God bless our soldiers and their families. Tammy Noble Sams Valley CASA vs. Casa CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, of Jackson/Josephine County supports volunteers who walk alongside children during the time they spend in the child welfare system because of abuse/neglect. We can only do this work with the help of over 200 volunteers, local donations, foundation funding, local and state government funding — and through name recognition. We have worked tirelessly to increase CASA name recognition in our community for both volunteer recruitment and funding to reach the over 200 children on our waitlist. Lately, Casa of Oregon has come into the news, showing our building, phone and address. Casa (lower case) of Oregon is a different organization that is helping with the need for housing. We deeply appreciate these efforts but would like to clarify that CASA of Jackson/Josephine County has not received millions of dollars for housing and we do not need donated motorhomes. Our phones have been flooded with such calls. Thank you for reading this and to everyone who supports and/or volunteers at CASA of Jackson County, we appreciate you. Let us know if you would like more information about CASA. www.jacksoncountycasa.org or www.jococasa.org. Jennifer Mylenek, executive director, CASA of Jackson and Josephine Counties Medford Thank you, Betsy Johnson Thank you, Betsy Johnson, for running for governor of Oregon. You gave people like me an alternative to voting for the lesser of two evils. Hopefully when the 2024 election comes around someone will give us a viable alternative not named Trump or Biden.
