Police: Motorcyclist had been drinking By Mail Tribune staff Mar 27, 2019 05:11 PM A A Gerald Duane Golden, Jr., 58, of White City, a motorcyclist killed Tuesday afternoon in a White City crash involving a semitrailer, had alcohol in his system, according to information released Wednesday by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Golden died of injuries sustained when his black 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a 1988 Kenworth pulling a trailer into Biomass One on Avenue G at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. The truck driver, James Mason Anderson, 58, of Central Point, was uninjured and has cooperated with investigators, according to police. Golden had alcohol in his system when he was rushed to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, according to police. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Police said Golden’s excessive speed and alcohol impairment appear to have contributed to the crash, but further toxicology tests are pending.
