If the PUC approves, Avista's 98,000 residential customers in Oregon, including many in Jackson and Josephine counties,will see a 12.1 percent drop in monthly billings. A customer needing an average of 46 therms per month could expect bills to decrease by $7.55. Avista said its natural gas revenue would decline $13.8 million related to decreased natural gas costs. About 40 percent of an Avista natural gas customer's bill is the combined cost of purchasing natural gas on the wholesale market and transporting it to Avista's system. Commodity and operations costs are handled in separate filings. Avista said market prices for natural gas fell because last winter was warmer than normal, leaving gas companies with stored reserves while production companies continued to extract gas. In addition to the Purchased Gas Cost Adjustment, Avista proposed two smaller rate adjustments related to demand side management and funding for environmental groups.   Broth company adds pickup locations Bare Bones Broth Co. products are now available for pickup at locations in Medford, Ashland and Talent. Heretofore, the broth was ordered online and shipped to customers. Shoppers are now able to order on the Medford-based Bare Bones website and select a pickup location, avoiding shipping charges. The current pickup locations are fitness gyms, though the company will add new types of pickup locations. Bare Bones also said it plans to add pickup locations in Central Point, Grants Pass and Eagle Point in August.   Rogue Valley Mall owner reports $418 million earnings General Growth Properties, owner of Rogue Valley Mall, reported net earnings of $418 million in the second quarter, on revenue of $580 million. The Chicago-based company owns, manages, leases and redevelops retail properties. Same Store leased percentage was 96 percent on June 30. Initial rental rates for signed leases increased 10.4 percent, or $5.88 per square foot, to $62.30 per square foot compared to the rental rate for expiring leases. Tenant sales, excluding anchors, increased 3.4 percent to $20.5 billion.   Six companies picked for business accelerator Sustainable Valley has named the six companies for its 2015 business accelerator program. The operators of Essential Wipe, Green Valley Organics, Occhi, Quantz Tuner, TerraSol Organics and Uber Herbal will begin one-on-one mentoring this month. Weekly seminars on business basics will be supplemented with weekly assignments that will help the companies apply the lessons learned with the support of a mentor.
