`Holiday of the Century' starts in Medford tonight A 50-foot Christmas tree, carolers, a light show and a Santa parade will kick off a "Holiday of the Century" celebration tonight at Vogel Park in downtown Medford. Sponsored by the Heart of Medford Association, the festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a parade ushering Santa and his reindeer up Main Street to the park at Main and Central. Accompanying Santa will be South and North Medford high school marching bands, the Miss Medford Royalty Court and city dignitaries with Geoffrey Giraffe. A light, smoke and music show by Oregon Stage Lighting and Sound is set at the park. Mayor Lindsay Berryman will light the Christmas tree. Choirs from North and South Medford high schools and a Sweet Adelines chorus will sing carols throughout the evening.
