Oregon State announcer Mike Parker apologizes for drunken video

CORVALLIS — The announcer for Oregon State University athletic events, Mike Parker, is apologizing for a YouTube video that shows him so intoxicated at a restaurant in the Los Angeles area that he eats a napkin. The video was shot without his knowledge by others in the restaurant several months ago when OSU was on a road trip. Parker told KGW he's deeply ashamed for putting himself in the position. He says he's aware he presented a comical spectacle and bears no ill will to the people who posted the video. Parker is a private contractor and not an Oregon State employee. The university issued a statement saying it's concerned for Parker and pleased he's seeking treatment. He'll continue to announce Beaver sports.
