There are crosswalks near the place where you stop for the light. Do you stop at the crosswalk and wait for the light, or can you legally drive through the crosswalk and wait for the light? I hope this is making sense. I don't want to get a ticket for something I can't understand. — Patricia C., Phoenix Like anywhere else, stop before any stop bars or crosswalks, Patricia. That's for the safety of pedestrians and drivers because the position you're supposed to stop in ensures you'll be able to see the traffic signal. "Just follow your normal driving etiquette," said Oregon Department of Transportation spokesman Gary Leaming. Continue to drive defensively, and be aware that some construction is still occurring at the interchange. The continuing construction, called the Fern Valley interchange project, has been going on since 2014. The $72 million project employs a d iverging diamond interchange, in which traffic moves to the left side as it approaches the bridge.
