Man arrested after beating A Medford man was arrested Wednesday morning after he allegedly beat up his girlfriend and bound her hands and mouth with duct tape. Monty Wes Madsen, 38, of Medford, was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of first-degree kidnap, second-degree kidnap, felony fourth-degree assault, coercion and second-degree child neglect. His bail was more than $2 million. At about 6:09 p.m. Tuesday, his girlfriend and her 2-year-old grandson arrived at her home in the 1100 block of Bens Lane in Medford, a home she shares with Madsen. He allegedly got into an argument with her and choked her, punched her and kicked her, said Medford police Lt. Tim George. When she attempted to call 911 for help, Madsen allegedly bound her hands and mouth with the tape and left the home. He came back an hour later and cut her loose and she fled the home. Madsen then left the house leaving the 2-year-old to fend for himself. The girlfriend went to Rogue Valley Medical Center and was treated and released for injuries to her face and body and police were called to the scene.
