Known for their traditional Middle Eastern performances, the Brothers have successfully bridged the gap between traditional Middle Eastern music and American rock 'n' roll. Call 488-8894 or see baladi.com/epk.html. eden valley event: Eden Vale Winery in Medford will host "The Battle of the Bones," a three-day food, beverage and entertainment event Friday, June 30, Saturday, July 1, and Sunday, July 2, at Eden Valley Winery. On Saturday, July 1, 25 nationally recognized BBQ teams will compete for $10,000 in cash and prizes and a chance to win a trip to Lynchburg, Tenn., to compete in the Jack Daniel's World Invitational BBQ Championships. On Sunday, July 2, 100 local and regional teams will compete for $6,500 in cash and prizes sponsored by Big R Stores. All three days will feature local wines and local microbrews as well as tastings and samplings from Rogue Valley restaurants. Blues musician Curtis Salgado plays 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday. On Sunday night will be the KRWQ Colgate Country Showdown. In between there will be live music and entertainment from local, regional and national acts. The Trio of Trouble is performing in 23 West Coast cities and will join Southern Oregon Jobs with Justice in the Fourth of July parade. Cost is $10. Nobody will be turned away. Tuesday, July 4 american band college concert: The 210-member American Band College Directors' Band will present a concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, at the Ashland High School Football Stadium, Mountain Avenue, Ashland. College and high school band directors will perform under the baton of various conductors. Pre-concert music by small ensembles begins at 7 p.m. The last half hour of music is coordinated with the Ashland fireworks display. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and picnic on the grounds. Tickets cost $16 for adults, $12 for seniors 62 or older, and children 12 and under when accompanied by a paying adult will be admitted free. The group's presentation and performance will illustrate what gave various big bands of the 1940s their own unique sounds. Tickets cost $5, with all proceeds going to the musicians.
